April 10, 2015We have had difficulties with one of our three retractable screen doors from the time it was installed. It took us several phone calls to get on a list for service, and then it was 6 months before a tech could get here. Our first tech, Bob, "fixed" the door, which then broke again within 3 days because he removed what seems was a crucial element of the door. We called again for service, and after several phone calls over several weeks, we received an e-mail that we were scheduled with Alex. Alex was very professional, called before coming and seemed very competent in diagnosing the problem with the door. He ordered a new door. We waited again, but received no follow-up on when service would be. Called and got McKenzie, who said she had ordered the door and that Will would be out to install it. Will called several weeks later when he was on-island telling us that the door had not arrived and that he would not be coming. But, Alex should be back in 2 weeks. We waited 2 weeks and had heard nothing from Milgard. So I called. I talked with McKenzie again. She forgot to call or e-mail us that Alex was scheduled for the next day. Ooops! But, no problem because we were talking now, right? Right. Alex called the next day saying that the wrong door had been ordered. He wouldn't be coming. So, 9 months after the door was installed, Les came out to make it work. He called ahead and was very professional. Even though he had just completed his Milgard training and had never seen one of these doors, even though the replacement door was a slightly different size from the original one, Les worked through it on his own and made the door work. I was impressed. So, hurray for Les. I hope you appreciate him. We sure do!

I am always impressed when people say what they'll do, and then do what they say.One window had not worked properly for quite sometime. The tech came in, made a couple of tweeks and fixes my window was back in service. My larger window, of greatest concern, was about to fall out completely. I do still have a problem with milgard with respect to the windows I had installed in 1988, and their failure to honor the warranty on those windows as well as other which were replaced from about 1990 until about 2005.

April 08, 2015Initial phone call was frustrating, in having to locate an obscure and hard to see number on the door, and then, not sure if was correct, to submit it online. I then heard nothing for 2-3 weeks, and had to call again, and let them know that I was frustrated about not getting any feedback about the status of my repair.At this point, the response was quick, I got a tech in within a week, and the sliding door, which was off its track, was fixed within a few minutes.So a great result, but a fair amount of frustration on the front end, from a communication and customer service standpoint.

April 07, 2015The service I received from Milgard was great, although it took 3 attempts to get the window replacement finally installed.
First try: installers found a crack in the window.Second try: window was 5" too long.Third try: success!
Scheduling all of the installation appointments is the only reason they get docked a star. Sorry. It isn't always easy to take the time off work to be at home waiting.

He showed me exactly what needed to be corrected and how he was able to correct it. We tested the doors together numerous times to be sure all was correct. His professionalism went even further when he adjusted the screen doors and discussed products that were recommended to keep all the doors clean and sliding smoothly.
